When God took my youngest brother this year I realize how we never stop to think that this might be the last year we are given the chance to be together. I remember how last Thanksgiving he came to spend the night with me and I made homemade cobbler for his breakfast on Thanksgiving day. As usual he enjoyed the Thanksgiving meal I had prepared. Of course when he went home that afternoon he took enough food to last for days. Not for one minute did I think that would be the last Thanksgiving meal we would have together. : (
It seems as we get older we realize our family should always take time for each other. We should put aside that we don't always see eye to eye or we may not like everything about each other, but we should always make time for each other. Nothing can put a wedge between the love of a family!
So......I have plans to spend Thanksgiving with as many family members as I can. I want them to all know I love them and thankful for each one of them. When God took Karl it was a shock and I know through all the pain of his loss that some good will come out of it. Maybe it already has, a different kind of closeness among our family.
